After 18 years of coming out to Hood our hunch was correct and at milepost #3 we in fact came out above the clouds.
The snowfield actually froze overnight and the wind was howling at 20 to 30 mph all day resulting in awesome training conditions. Courses were set and for the first 2 hours not a bag of salt was thrown.
It was a productive day up and down the lanes and most everyone took advantage of the good conditions & skied right up until noon. It was then back down to our condo to start our afternoon tuning and test center runs.
Nordica, Head, Fischer & Rossignol all have made substantial commitments towards product testing and race support by stocking & staffing the test centers pictured above. This enables racers to "try before they buy" and make the most educated buying decisions.
The Friday night meeting wrapped up the end of Week #1. As always it concluded with a "Talent Show" of which the highlight was a fantastic ode to Erich given by Kiki Bailey Coles & Monica McDonald. One more day on snow and then it is our break day and we head to the coast.
