Everyone in our condo were like kids trying to sleep in on Christmas morning. We were all up by 6 AM completely psyched to look out the window to see that it was snowing. 3" on the ground and it's supposed to snow all day!
The old saying "There are no friends on a powder day" could not have been more true as Dave, Eddie, Terri & myself arrived by 8:30 and to our surprise there were already 4 to 5 inches on the ground already.
The Ghee delivered again for the Pierce Crew and as always we really felt welcome. On the information boards at the bottom of every lift was the message "Welcome Pierce Skate & Ski".
Not only does the trip enable all of us to reconnect with the sport of skiing but at the same time with each other away from the shop.
This trip is our 6th in the past 7 years and our 5th straight year at Targhee. The photo below represents the 6 staffers who have made every trip. From left to right - Hugh, Bart, Terri, Dave, Eddie & Ted.
The snow kept dumping and and our crew kept doing laps.Tough work but somebody has got to do it! As the day progressed more & more of the staff headed to the best après ski bar in the world The Trap Bar.
By the end of the day there were only 4 soldiers standing Bart, Craig, Dave & Eddie. It was tough to shut it down as the snow kept coming down and kept stacking up with well over 12" by the time the lifts closed.
The entire crew ended up at the Royal Wolf for beer, dinner, the Final 4 Championship game and did I mention beer?
The whole crew was completely stoked when Davis Silver showed up to ski 3 out of 4 days with us.
