The alarm went off at 4:30 and we were out the door and on the way to Huck's at 5:20 AM; 10 minutes before the wave of Sailer campers got in the vans.
While Government Camp was shrouded in clouds we broke through at mile marker 3 on the Timberline Road and the tone for the day immediately changed as it was crystal clear.
Tickets were handed out and everyone started to get geared up. For only the 2nd time in 16 years of coming to Timberline I was the 1st non-Timberline employee at the top of the snowfield.
The snow conditions were perfect across lanes #1, 2 & 3 and by 7:30 AM all of the courses were up and running. All of the athletes were working hard, getting run after run in without interruption as there was not a liftline in sight.
The remainder of our day was spent setting up over 25 pair of SL skis for
tomorrow and tuning another 15 pair. By 9:00 PM everyone had picked up their gear and the resort was quiet.

The forecast seems to be a moving target for the remainder of the week with clouds moving in tomorrow. We are hoping for the best.
